Well how do you know that you aren't passing on bad information by saying that an AEM intake will give twice as much power than a similiarly designed generic.
I know this arguement can go on forever...and there is really no point, but like I've said in the past...a dyno test in the real world with the different intakes is really the only way to show what gains you are getting.
Personally, I don't worry about it, because the gains are so small it's negligible imo. I had an AEM CAI for a week, took it off because the stock intake performed better at low RPM (day to day driving in my world) and sound of the AEM was obnoxious. I'd be one thing if all that noise was accompanied with a "whoosh" of power, but when the car actually feels more sluggish with the intake on, it was embarassing to me lol.
you keep referring to the original AEM intake. i agree with you, that one did suck. that's why i waited for the V2. the original lost power low, and gained a little up top. the V2 gains throughout the entire powerband. different intakes make different gains.
