i swear we went over this in another forum... its just a pipe and a filter... woohoo!!! the v2 intake is just a 4"?? or is it 3" expansion and then it goes smaller on the throttle body... ooooo i can make that in shop with free piping and use the shops welder. the v2 system gains what 1-2 whp up top over the regular CAI? woohoo, $100 more for 1-2 whp up top that won't make that much difference. go for it man... ebay is just around the corner for a $30 intake, or make your own.

IF your buying for the sticker, might as well keep it stock then... your buying a $300 sticker.

i can tell by your name, lol.. the only way you can actually hydrolock your engine is if the filter sucks up a LOT of water at once.. probably what 2 liters of water then it will hydrolock, a little rain won't effect it.

the engine only displaces 2.2 or 2.3 liters... it only needs to suck up enough water to keep ONE of the cyliners from reaching top dead center. water, unlike air/fuel mix, is incompressible... have you ever seen how small the combustion chamber is at TDC? anyway, it's much more like a cup of water in the engine will hydrolock.

but i agree that you have to basically drive into a lake to hydrylock your engine with a CAI.

Okay..this thread is getting out of hand.

Newbb, read through this...it's pretty informative.

TeamDelSol - Make your own CAI

As for exhaust, not sure about the two, but I have a Tanabe G Power Medallion and can comment on that. I know the Tanabe is quieter and deeper than the Apex'I...I'll try to get sound clips if you guys want.

and is air bypass valve necessary in MD?
Check out my AEM v2 Review.

As for the exhaust, I've heard good things about both the Magnaflow and the Apexi. I chose to go with the Greddy Evo though, and I'm very happy with it.
