the engine only displaces 2.2 or 2.3 liters... it only needs to suck up enough water to keep ONE of the cyliners from reaching top dead center. water, unlike air/fuel mix, is incompressible... have you ever seen how small the combustion chamber is at TDC? anyway, it's much more like a cup of water in the engine will hydrolock.

but i agree that you have to basically drive into a lake to hydrylock your engine with a CAI.
