Civic is dying while driving
So you are telling me that your car bucked and jerked and cut off before and it was your o2 sensor? Please tell me this is the case. Your car did exactly what I mentioned? How is that possible that it's just an o2 sensor?

Shorting out the O2 will screw up the mapping too the ECU. The ECU will do what it's told (giving out directions for fuel, air, valve control...ect...). This can alter the engines actions significantly.
My car Bucked, bogged, died, started fine, bogged, wouldn't start, started....ect....ect....till I got it dynoed and they found it was the ECU shorting out. It happened 3 times actually...not two. The second and third time I just went ahead and swapped that bish out myself. FYI ~ they aren't fun to get out .
um..don't you have some kind of a warranty? Take that bish in.
Nah it's not under warranty because I drive it to death. A tech did tell me that an ignitor/ignition coil failure could cause the car to act this way and have the CAT converter go bad. It was just replaced a few thousand miles ago and the check engine light is back on.
Does anyone know how an ignitor/ignition coil can cause the Cat converter to go bad?

It isn't the catalytic converter that went bad.
See, what that code REALLY means is that the O2 sensor isn't getting the proper readings. Your second O2 sensor is only there so that your ECU can monitor emissions. If your second O2 sensor dies but the first one is giving good readings, the ECU will assume that there is something wrong with the cat.
I'm with Andy on this one.
Either your O2 sensor is dead, or you have an electrical short somewhere that is cutting the ECU in and out. Or it could be that the O2 sensor is only bad (shorting) part of the time, and so the ECU keeps cutting in and out of limp mode.

If the ECU was cutting out, wouldn't the "check engine light" be off when I first started the car, and come back on later? It's always on. You know, since you can unplug the battery and the check engine light will stay off until it gets bad readings. I think you might be right, that second o2 sensor may be screwing me. It is the second one, right? I am still trying to figure out how the o2 sensor can make my car cut completely off. You guys know more than I do. THanks for you help because this will definitly save me time and frustration.

The original one shorted out and the comp is getting mixed signals and screws up the entire mapping of commands to the engine.
