lowering problems
okay, my gf just got a 96 Civic EX 2dr. when she got it, it was already lowered. whenever we drive around, when there is a dip, it sounds like the tire is scraping the inside fenderwall of the car. i was wondering if there was anyway to fix this or if it is dangerous in any way. it is lowered on adjustable coilovers...i don't know what brand, and i don't really wanna raise the car back up cause it looks good lowered. it is not even really that low, my eclipse is lower than her car and my car never does it. i felt up inside the tirewell and there isn't much room, is that just how it is?
If it's hitting the fender then it will either need to be raised or you will have to roll the fenders or you will need to replace the struts (which may not even fix it).
Sometimes you have to sacrifice looks for drivability. It sucks, I know, but would you rather that it looked good for a little while and then had a crumpled fender or that it looks a little less good cause it's not as low, but stays that way forever?
You decide.

Yea, your best bet is to crank up the coil-overs a tad, then you won't have to sacrifice that much of a 'drop' and won't have rubbing issues. That is most economical, or like they said above, roll the fenders if that's the rubbing. If there's no major damage to the tire, it shouldn't be so bad, occasional rubbing can't be avoided, given your car is lowered, have big wheels, and have couple of passengers. I used to occasionally rub with a full house on 16's. I have yet to rub with my H&R drop on stock 13" steelies...

either do what people mentioned above, or get other wheels with right offset. it happend when i use 16" with 40 offset, and it's gone with 17" with 42 offset.
that won't happen to your eclipse, cause you can not roll the fender on that car. compare the fender section between your car and hers, you' get an idea then.
I believe, the scrapping sound comes when the tire hit the fenders.

The eclipses have HUGE fender wells as it is. Looks like a truck from the factory (not the new body style that is).
