Default lowering problems

okay, my gf just got a 96 Civic EX 2dr. when she got it, it was already lowered. whenever we drive around, when there is a dip, it sounds like the tire is scraping the inside fenderwall of the car. i was wondering if there was anyway to fix this or if it is dangerous in any way. it is lowered on adjustable coilovers...i don't know what brand, and i don't really wanna raise the car back up cause it looks good lowered. it is not even really that low, my eclipse is lower than her car and my car never does it. i felt up inside the tirewell and there isn't much room, is that just how it is?
