either do what people mentioned above, or get other wheels with right offset. it happend when i use 16" with 40 offset, and it's gone with 17" with 42 offset.
that won't happen to your eclipse, cause you can not roll the fender on that car. compare the fender section between your car and hers, you' get an idea then.
I believe, the scrapping sound comes when the tire hit the fenders.
