Your friend is a moron plain and simple.

That is like saying I am going to buy a V6 instead of a V8 because I can make the V6 put out more power than the V8. Yeah you can, but only to a point and at a huge cost that is not worth it in the end. Start with the better product with a higher baseline then work from there, the cost is much less and the performance strain will be more tolerable to the engine and associated parts.

The Impreza/WRX is a fine car but the STi is the one you get for performance especially when you consider other items not directly related to the engine that are included in it.

I gave him the same logic but I made a refrence to civic motors, I didnt say v6 and v8 bc I knew hed be like "dude they are both 4cyl motors"

He was confident enough in this matter to say "ill put money on it" so I said ok $50 lol

yeah, your friend is a retard. It will cost way more to bring the WRX close to STi performance, and that's not counting the new transmission he will need immediately.

this is a good point...even if your friend dropped 8k into the wrx to make it as fast as the sti. He would still not have the upgraded suspension, breaks, limited slip dif, dccd, and (if it's a newer one) a warranty.
