Anybody know a rod-adjustment tutorial for fenders?
dave - just make quarter to half turns of the truss rod in slow increments. it turns intuitively - i.e. you want to turn it to the left to loosen the rod and put a slight outward bow in the neck.
Keep tension on the strings - just leave them in tune.
DO NOT crank on it, or give the truss rod full turns at a time, or else you can run the risk of snapping the neck, or cracking along the truss rod.
And, how are you setting the intonation?
A common way to do it is to plug into a tuner, and tune the guitar. Then, hit the 12th fret on each string, and adjust the saddles to tune to the 12th fret.
Keep tension on the strings - just leave them in tune.

Had a friend set up the strat, plays beautiful now.
Next step is to lose the pickguard (I hate them to begin with). I found one I really like that I can have customized to have 1 volume knob and a toggle pup switch.. lookin at this:

Guitar in question:

Traded my old Washburn body for some rackmount gear.. a Digitech Twin Tube GFX1 and a 27 band EQ. Also getting a used rack case out of the deal as well. Traded to a friend who has his own mini-guitar museam at his place.
Also have a hot chick auditioning in 2 weeks for vocals.. and she can do electric/acoustic/keys - her style = Evanescence/new Nightwish.
