I've been having a lot of trouble getting the intonation right, after tons of saddle adjustment. Last night I took a closer look and found the culprit: my neck is bowed inward. Anybody know a rod-adjustment tutorial for fenders?

dave - just make quarter to half turns of the truss rod in slow increments. it turns intuitively - i.e. you want to turn it to the left to loosen the rod and put a slight outward bow in the neck.

Keep tension on the strings - just leave them in tune.

DO NOT crank on it, or give the truss rod full turns at a time, or else you can run the risk of snapping the neck, or cracking along the truss rod.

And, how are you setting the intonation?

A common way to do it is to plug into a tuner, and tune the guitar. Then, hit the 12th fret on each string, and adjust the saddles to tune to the 12th fret.

I set the intonation by doing a 12th fret harmonic and tuning the 12th fret fretted to match the same note as the harmonic. That's just the way I learned, I guess it's a little more complicated than just tuning at the 12th fret. :dunno:

I was just being a smart ass. The guitar is black, right? I'd say black mirror or black anodized.

That pearl finish is just awful

I did like that black one, and yes the guitar is black. Hmm, I wish I could see these in person.

Traded my old Washburn body for some rackmount gear.. a Digitech Twin Tube GFX1 and a 27 band EQ. Also getting a used rack case out of the deal as well. Traded to a friend who has his own mini-guitar museam at his place.

Also have a hot chick auditioning in 2 weeks for vocals.. and she can do electric/acoustic/keys - her style = Evanescence/new Nightwish.
