question for the gibson folks: how do you adjust the saddles on the bridge? It looks like the string goes right over the screws, how do you get a screwdriver in there?

So do you just go in between the strings? The screws are out in the open on my fender, is why I'm wondering.

there's enough space to do that, yes. but for the life of me i cannot remember the last time i even touched those. I usually pay a local luthier to set my guitars up, its the best $50 you'll ever spend.

I used to have some ridiculous bass gear... had a Rickenbacker 4003 JG, Lakland 5 string, Matt Pulcinella Guitars (MPG) Level 5, and some others that i'm forgetting.

i used to have a sweet bass rig too, a BBE BMAX-T tube preamp running to a QSC PLX2402 power amp (24lbs!), running either an Eden D410T or an Ampeg SVT-1540HE (4x10 + 1x15 in an 8x10 cab), also had an Ampeg SVT-3Pro for a while...

I miss it.

Now I just rock a Essex 60's Jazz Reissue... Essex (or SX) makes cheap chinese fender knockoffs, but they are of astounding quality. I got an excellent one - vintage white, ashtray pickup / bridge covers, etc. Mine plays like fucking butter. I don't have an amp anymore

My fender is like that, but I'm getting it set up this weekend because no amount of saddle adjustments is ridding me of that stupid "tin" noise on the D/G strings.
