Home A/V guys :o
I dunno, something cheap. I was going to pick up one of those Dell SC4xx servers...then add a sound and video card.
All i want to do is listen to MP3s in my living room with a easy GUI. And also to use the computer to surf the web or whatever.

seems like you have your setup figured out
one more thing i find useful is to run my videogame sound into the tv instead of the receiver, then i listen to mp3's through the receiver from pc and turn on sound effects only on the tv
i use front row on the gf's mac for interface, but i would also like to know some good pc interfaces

that's really strange. have you tried it though just to be sure?
i looked at the manual to your receiver, and although it pictures each HDMI cable plugged in with sound cable with it, it also describes the HDMI cable as sending audio and video.
also, it shows that you hook up only the HDMI cable alone to the TV, for HDMI out. if sounds gets through this way, it's gotta work.
honestly, if it doesn't, i'd return that receiver. it's a pretty glaring feature to be missing. but you should at least be sure.
here's a diagram of my setup:

i haven't verified yet that the wii will work this way (component to hdmi). it should, but i'll find out tonight. i just ran the necessary cables last night.
regardless, i'm very pleased with how many fewer cables i have to run. if anything, what you spend extra on a receiver that supports this, you save on cables. :dunno:
