agreed. I just got a a kimber 1911 about a month ago for that reason. It's not that i'm preparing for anything I just prefer not to pay more and jump through more gun control laws to get one.

i was going to get my pistol permit before november just in case but looks like i missed that deal... seriously concerned that my gun rights - even as a clean record tax paying law abiding citizen - are at risk.

doesnt help that i live in NY, we are about as blue state as they come, gun laws here are openly regarded by courts as "privelage" not as "rights"

My grandpa owns a couple really nice hand guns and I think several rifles. I'm sure he's got ammo too, so here's hoping if he kicks the bucket he leaves some to me.

Exactly, that's my reasoning.... seriously. I still haven't gotten around to picking up a few boxes of ammo for my 30-06 (got it right this time ), I know if I wait I may end up paying more but with my hours being cut, I'll take my chances. Not only may I end up needed that money for essentials, but if things take a turn for the worse, maybe having ammo sitting around for my rifle isn't the smartest idea h: (jk)

I got my XD semi-used (orig owner bought it 3 months prior new and only put ~200rds through it), Glock 30 was a little more used, and the HK was also private sale but brand spanking new, never fired. Private sale at sub market prices ftw!

I was at basspro asking if the ammo shelves have been full ever since Nov and he said that after ever order is delivered that they are pretty much sold out by the end of the night.

I think I'm just going to order my ammo online, thats the only way I can be sure I can get it.

so I've been looking everywhere for the upgrade kits for my gun. I saw some promising stuff, they have the 9mm conversion kit so hopefully they will have the .40 and .357 upgrade soon. I think police departments are just cleaning sig out of them.

honestly there is no need for a gun in CA. If anything you will get arrested for having one by some renegade cop

Paranoid? nope
Prepared just in case? you better believe it.
You think civilization is going to go rogue and we're all going to be trading ammo and hunting our own food or what?
