I think guns in the household should be okay. The thing is, parents need to educate their children about guns so that there aren't any incidents where the child gets curious about the gun and ends up shooting someone. I grew up in a household full of guns, but I was raised to understand that it is not a toy. I was taught how to load and unload quite a few weapons, as well as take them apart and put them back together. I was also taken out shooting as a kid. There was never a time where I had taken the gun out without adult supervision.

What, because I don't agree with hunting with large-calaber rifles makes my opinions "assumtions on what (I've) 'heard'"? Who the fuck made you the all-knowing one, you self-righteous prick. You think animal populations cannot be controlled with bows, arrows, dart guns, and the sort?

jackass.

OK I think intelligent discussion can be had here without any name calling involved......this goes for both of you so clean it up and discuss your views or this thread will be closed.

Thank You

referring to the deer population... it is an impossibility to take down the number of deer every year to keep the herd healthy with bows and dart guns. and as long as the hunter isn't doing it for sport what's the big deal? if you use the meat, what's so wrong about it? it's not like hunters kill just for the skin or antlers.

i'm not even gonna acknowledge the rest of your post.

yes, actually i do. all of the hunters i know either eat the meat from the deer that they kill or give it to homeless shelters. hunters that hunt for sport alone are few and far between

Come on down to Michigan, I'll show you 50% of the population.

I can't think of any reason I would ever need to own a handgun. I don't need to shoot anyone, I don't need to threaten to shoot anyone.

If I was into hunting I would buy a bolt action magazine fed .22 and leave it at that.

and even if they did...who gives a fuck?

IMO, nowadays, handguns in the home are a must. with robberies happening all the damn time. if more responsible citizens owned handguns, learned how to handle them, and were allowed to use them in times of self defense, then maybe all the criminals that own them would think thrice before breaking into peoples' homes or carjacking or mugging people. The problem is, they let you own the gun for protecting your property, but if somebody breaks into your house and you shoot them, you can get charged with murder.
