You're counting overall miles driven on both fuel sources but only counting one source of consumption (diesel).
So combine the number of total gallons consumed (both diesel & alt. fuel) and you'll have a more accurate figure.
the glycerine in wvo will destroy newer diesel injectors, unless the holes are obscenely large
h: Fucks the whole engine up with hard deposits. Better off buying a bio-d kit and converting the wvo to Bio-d and run that. just my 2 cents.

h: Full conversion costs for a gallon of wvo to diesel is about $.70 per gallon with the necessary chemicals and electricity.
they still go after some people who use waste oil so watch what ya say.
know a guy who got hit with about 10k in fines because he uses the waste oil from his resteraunt and they came after him for using his vehicle on the road and not paying the state fuel taxes nor having the proper license since technically he's 'producing' his own fuels.

I have heard of guys in my area getting nailed for using the diesel that is subsidsed for farm use. they dye it green, and if you get pulled over for a spot check you get a nice hefty fine you have to pay. fuck taxes!
But I would argue against it being "free fuel" as John says, aside from a select few people that have access to mass quantities of that stuff. I have no idea where I'd get 15 gallons of used veggie oil on a weekly basis.
