I suppose, but it isn't innaccurate either

Just depends on if you bother to look into the whole story or just accept things at face value.

It still takes a gallon of fuel to go 20 miles... to me, that's 20mpg any way you cut it. Just on very cheap fuel.

:edit: It's still great, and I'm all for it, just sayin'

Not "very cheap fuel" it is free fuel so yes there is a huge difference, at least to me when I commute 45 miles a day each way to work and have to drive 75 miles each way to pick up and drop off my kids regularly. I also would like to take some trips this summer with my FJ40 on the trailer behind me so I can go crawl some new areas so this makes the trip 100x more affordable.

Basically it alleviates any need to worry if the 5 gallons left will get me where I need to go as long as I have the oil tank filled.

In fact I am planning to modifiy one of the Dodge kits for my FJ40 and switch it over to a 4bt. This way I will run a 5 gallon fuel cell with diesel and a 15 gallon cell with waste oil and I can go crawl all day for free.

See where this is going? My hobbies revolve around cars and driving and I don't want to nor am I ever planning on giving them up until I die. I will convert everything I own to run on diesel if I have to in order to keep doing it.

No need to defend yourself dood, I get it.

BUT... if you're using 10% pump diesel and 90% wvo, its still "very cheap fuel" even if you get your wvo for free. h:

But in all seriousness, it does sound perfect for a camping/wheeling rig... especially in some of the spots that take the better part of a day of creeping along to get there. Running out of gas on the way up to King Solomon Falls would be disasterous.

Not defending myself at all just clarifying that there really is a huge difference even though you are trivializing it.

I am a cheap bastard in some areas and I think fuel is one of those areas, so going crawling all weekend on 5 gallons of paid for gas makes me smile from ear to ear no matter how the numbers break down.

Luckily the WVO setup is still under the radar for the most part and there is no "brewing" hazards as with biodiesel.
they still go after some people who use waste oil so watch what ya say.

know a guy who got hit with about 10k in fines because he uses the waste oil from his resteraunt and they came after him for using his vehicle on the road and not paying the state fuel taxes nor having the proper license since technically he's 'producing' his own fuels.
