Best bang for buck, not all "tac'd out" needlessly and guaranteed to get the job done if you learn how to handle the weapon in CQB situations.
my uncle wants me to get a lot of practice shooting from the wasteline area as well as from the regular shooting angle. do you prefer the pistol grip style?

exactly, one of the main reasons I want it for home protection. its a little more intimidating than a gun.

I prefer the pistol grip for CQB because it lowers the swing distance f the weapon. The point is to have the most powerful, broad shooting weapon you can have and to make it small enough to act quickly.

Also it leaves it long enough that in the off chance you have to go hand to hand with someone you can still use it as a 1/4 staff weapon and still have plenty of weight to bash their skull in.

Maximum damage in the smallest packeage possible when your life is on the line

People in my area that break into a house, sure as hell aren't going to be scoping out with intent to kill.......the sound would 1. not immediately identify and 2. more than likely scare them away. If not, you are going to have a MUCH better chance of hitting them since you already know where they are, and they sure as hell can't see you yet.

not to mention should it go hand to hand and they attempt to wrestle it away, a pistol grip offers much more grip to hold onto when they pull on it

my uncle is aginst a gun as home protection because the spread of the shotgun will cause the most close range damage with a wider margin of error while also keeping the damaged confined to my condo so a stray bullet won't have the possibility of striking a neighboor.

Your theory is seriously flawed because unless you live in a large house (3k sq feet or more) most houses have a single pathway setup (a gauntlet of sorts tactically speaking).

So if you rack while standing in the hallway at your room door to warn whoever it is, they know there is only one doorway you can come through. They setup on the same side you would enter from with a club of some kind and knock the gun out your hand as well as you out the way and it is over.

Tactically speaking racking a shotgun has some intimidation but it also can be a huge mistake in letting them know you are coming and where from whether they can see you or not
