Rick

check out the bigfoot networks killer 2100 . . . been reading a couple reviews about this thing and it totally destroys on board NICs

and it would save you from having to send the MB back

i actually looked at that a while ago. but i already returned the board, well started the process. besides the network port, when i go into the cpu settings menu in the bios, the bios locks up. this is after flashing to the beta which was very unstable then reflashing back to the released bios several times.

i'm convinced the board is fuxored.

in that case yea

although if you are going to do any serious online play with that machine, def consider that nic adapter again. the latest test reviews are quite impressive and they just dropped the price on them $40 like a week ago

probably not as much as last year :chuckles: when i put in like 500+hrs into World At War.

these days i'm mostly playing co-op in MW2 and the like. I find that I enjoy playing co-ops more than anything else... mainly due to the time constraints.

Nice rig Rick. I just built one last week too. It took like about 8 hours putting it all together because I wanted to run the wires perfectly, and I installed a few things out of order so I had to take it all off and re-do it again HAHAHA

My specs
i7 930 CPU
CM Sniper Storm case
Ultra 750W PSU
eVGA Classified mobo
eVGA GTX470 superclocked vid
6GB Corsair Dominator RAM
120GB SSD hard drive
1.5 TB 7200 data drive

I have the pictures on my FB of the boxes....no pictures of it assembled yet since I left for Yosemite right after I finished it.

8hrs. thats crazy!!!! doesn't the sniper also have a cable management platform under the motherboard area? i took my time with mine and it took me 30mins and all the cables are out of the way, except for the power cables that I haven't hidden yet.

i can't wait til i get my ssds!!!!

running handbrake my cpu utilization maxed out at only 68%. hit 380fps encoding which tells me my single sata3 rotation hdd isn't cutting it.

It does, but I wanted to be perfect so I took my time. On top of that I fucked up a couple of times too and had to take it apart hahaha....the last time I built a system was about 3 years ago man

I didn't like the instructions for the case though. It had pictures and such, but certain pins needed to be disconnected in order so it can come apart and it didn't specifiy that. By luck I found the sequence and did that.

Oh yeah, the 8 hours include OS and software install along with updates and file transfers too

hahah i was going to say you suck if it took you 8hrs for hardware assembly

yeah i'm now done with all the updates for x64 and x32. took a long ass time due to the stupid network card

i'll be doing it all over again once the ssd comes in stock but that may no happen for 2-3months. at least i get to use it until then.

i figured you were.

i will run some numbers when I get home today... which today will be late. any particular one you want to see?

keeping in mine my network port is very unstable so something i can download from my old rig and copy over to the new is preferred.
