pc question v.svchost
ok so i got into it and checked it out... its the svc that runs like everything apperently... it has about 25-30 services it manages.
if i suspend the whole svchost i lose alot of windows function
i got in and looked at the threads it was controlling, and it had one thread that was stealing about 90% of my cpu power...i suspended that thread and i have no issues, i tried to get the name of the thread to post but it dissapeared once i suspended it....any idea why that one thread would want to reserve 90%+ of my resources?

what you want to find out is what's running under the one that is screwing the system. can you grab a screenshot of the threads?
svchost is run seperately as needed to host services and programs. killing one should not affect the others (i.e. the others running vital Windows services)

i have yet to see any side effects to suspending that thread either
one more to try: whatprocess
its cool because it shows your current processes and if you click on one it opens a web page with user submited explanations for that process. I go through mine every month or so and make i don't have any leeches.

doubt it very much. this is a freshly wiped laptop as of a week ago...nothing on system that would have spyware included, nor any pages visited that i know arent 100% safe. too much important shit on my laptop and not enough time on the internal network for a complete backup
