i'd rather just have somthing in the neighborhood of 11.5:1 and an awesome tune and not have to worry about crappy gas or a really hot day.

Scaredy cat. Get a good tune, J&S safeguard, no problemo for 12-12.5.

Darton or AEBS is my reccomendation

definitley make sure the machine shop knows their way around your engine before having them do it, I have heard some real fucked up stories from bad sleeve jobs.

Yes it gets expensive fast, after having my H22 built up I have decided never again to drop that kind of money into a car....well at least not a Honda h:

This is why I opted not to sleeve. My goal is 400 whp, and I don't think its completely necessary.

I'm not doubting the integrity of the OEM block, but for a DD I wouldn't go closed deck. The closed deck 4g63 is Cast, its a whole different ball game.

Anyway, off topic. OP is sleeving, added assurance never hurts. h:

11.7:1 and premium is a must. Honestly anything over 11.0:1 I would go premium only. After the full build I only lost 4mpg, I have no clue how it only lost that small amount but that seems to be where she sits :dunno:

tuning and how you drive plays a big role in gas mileage. what i meant by crappy gas is how some stations wont get the same grade of premium as another. i only use chevron so hopefull they're not cheap bastards like that. :hsugh:
