these idiots should start bringing their own european models into the US market, instead of the shit they offer us now. maybe then they have a chance at being competitive.

that and unions need to fucking go away.

for example, which would you prefer?

-or-

let's not even get into the specs..

another..

-or-

let us not forget the stupid alliteration naming convention that the americans love to do, which typically leads to moronic names. christ, who the hell makes these decisions??

I never liked really anything ford made. Generic cheap cars/trucks. Good riddance.

Companys grow over time and as you may know (or not) Forrd Motor Company is right around the 100 years old mark. It's not like MS where it happened pretty much over night.

As for your comment about their product line...In the last few years their car line has sucked especially with their jump into the compact market, even with the new Mustang coming out this was inevitible. To say their truck line was generic or cheap is not a very accurate statement at all. In fact the F-150 was top dog truck for something like 15 years and their other trucks have been staples of working America for decades.

Ford trucks have always outlasted Chevy under working conditions (trust me I have driven them into the ground on the ranch) and are just plain a better build machine whether diesel or gas pumpers.

yeah i totally agree that their trucks got the job done, and well. they just went nuts into producing so many when demand was starting to decline.

GM on the other hand is a mess. Their newer product lineup is as usual pretty lackluster and unless they do something very soon it's not going to bode well for the company.
wait a minute. Whats the fact of the matter?

I personally like GM's lineup a helluva lot more than ford's. I also agree that they should be looking to their foreign markets on how to improve cars stateside. They could charge a pretty penny for a turbocharged focus.

Visually I like GMs trucks a lot better...but for durability they suck ass. They are city trucks whereas Ford is a work truck.

Back in College, 2003-ish, the University's business school would always make us do case studies on successful companies. It was a given it would always be on:

1. Dell
2. Southwest Airlines
3. GM

and unsuccessful companies like:
1. Gateway
2. UAL
3. Ford

it's amazing that Ford actually outlasted GM, but both companies are screwed. Is there any recovering from this?

I don't know why your business school would sing the praises of GM, but they top just about every example of what NOT to do in a company. GM is not a well run company.
