Back in College, 2003-ish, the University's business school would always make us do case studies on successful companies. It was a given it would always be on:
1. Dell
2. Southwest Airlines
3. GM
and unsuccessful companies like:
1. Gateway
2. UAL
3. Ford
it's amazing that Ford actually outlasted GM, but both companies are screwed. Is there any recovering from this?
I don't know why your business school would sing the praises of GM, but they top just about every example of what NOT to do in a company. GM is not a well run company.
