I finished my contract with verizon in august of 05 and for the 8 months previous to the end of my contract, every call dropped at least once, i had no service at work and there's a verizon building less than 2 miles away and not to mention the myriad of problems i had with both phones on the plan with little to no help from verizon customer service.
I switched to cingular and haven't had a dropped call yet and I have full signal in my building at work. I did have a problem with my phone but cingular customer service replaced it with no problems or hassle.
And judging by your first two posts on the forum, the reason you got a phone thrown at you was your attitude, not the phone.

i have cingular, never really had a problem with it. i get good service, but i think a lot of the depends on the phone. the nokia that i had 2 phones before this one had great service in one area that i used to always drop service, then i get the next phone and i would drop again
VERIZON is SOOOOOOOOOOOOO much better than Cingular in EVERYWAY! and of course cingular is better than freaking nextel...DUH...and he didn't have an attitude he was just trying to prove that brad was telling the truth. Also, in some rare cases cingular may have better service...it really depends where you live. Overall tho (and you can't prove this wrong) Verizon has a bigger network...which means more service in more areas. We also totally got off track here...we are supposed to be congratulating bradley!!

I also deal with Verizon regularly as a telco provider for provisioning and installing T1's DS3's etc and their QOS sucks there too. It must be a corporate thing.

btw, i've heard from a million people, a million times, "i'll get paid $XXX base and they said i should make and extra $YYY on commission, so that means i'll be making $XXX + $YYY!" that has never come true, not even once.
the same old cliches apply, if it's too good to be true, it probably is.. if that were actually the case, everyone would be lining up for the job... etc. hell, who needs a college degree when you can make $70k/yr peddling cellphones?

i'm sure there are exceptions, but seriously, do you think your avg. kid working at the verizon store in the mall is pulling in $40k? i don't.
anyway, not trying to crap all over your thread, just speaking from my experience.

From what I have heard from good authority at Verizon is that the customer service reps in the stores are all contracted out and the customer service reps on the phone are actual employees of Verizon. Sounds like a plan for bad customer service to me. I know a lot of people who have Verizon and only keep it because of the service area but complain all the time about customer service and everything else.
I have Sprint and I used to have Nextel. I stayed with Sprint so I did not have to pay the cancellation fee with Nextel. With Sprint I get good CS as well as great service. While the coverage area is not always as good as Verizon, I have free off-network roaming which comes in handy if it roams onto Verizon's network.
