rare cases, like the entire DC metro area. that's not very rare.
Overall tho (and you can't prove this wrong) Verizon has a bigger network...which means more service in more areas.
larger network /= better service. Cingular customer service has been very polite and professional, i can't say the same for verizon. Cingular's QOS is top notch and handles the call volume in the DC metro area very well. I rarely if ever get dropped calls. I can't say the same for verizon. A larger network means more maintenance needs to be done in order to meet decent QOS standards and through my experience, Verizon is sub-par at best.
I also deal with Verizon regularly as a telco provider for provisioning and installing T1's DS3's etc and their QOS sucks there too. It must be a corporate thing.
