in the mean you tell your wife to sell something of hers to pay for any current debt that may be hanging around. there is no reason why you should have to sacrifice something you have worked so hard for to help someone that obviously cant control themselves and needs so much financial help.

All in all its a sticky situation, Its hard being that Im probably the only one in the family who has more know how and what not of how the world works. Having a fob like family who doesn't knwo how the world works is really hard to deal with sometimes. And telling them to eff off isn't always the greatest answer to everything. They did help me and my wife when we needed it, and whether this is what i have to deal with as karma then so be it. But thanks for all the advice here guys, sometimes you just need to vent a little and hear suggestions cause im such at a lost i don't even know anymore. I really love my wife and her family, but sometimes their ingnorance or unknowingness to everyday life takes a toll that i have to deal with. Like i said this family somehow does not like success or only seems to live just the way it lives.

Uh oh...sounds like they found their crutch for their spending (you).

Ir my in-laws were pulling that shit I would probably let it slide the first 2 or 3 times. But after that, I would lay it down and say "Look, I can't afford paying YOURS and my own bills!"

Are you on their credit card or something? Man, I'd be ripshit. That's why I don't do that for anybody, I protect my credit with my life.

My credit is MY credit.

that car is far from new anymore. lol.

Sell it on eBay, and do what those people do:
"new in box" (used twice)

why r u paying their bills? Why are they calling your house?
You have your own bills to pay. Why please them when at the end your screwing yourself.

I know you didn't want comments on anything other than the car trade in, but I can't help myself.

As long as you are there to bail them out, they will never learn to be responsible with their credit. How long are you willing to cover them? They need to realize its THEIR responsibility. If they have to pawn the TV, sell the couch, whatever... so be it. Thats the only way they will learn. They need to make the sacrifice, not you. Once in a while people need help, but this is sounding like a recurring problem.
