first off you should take all credit cards in your in-laws away and shred the shit out of them. then you give them a budget that you have put together to pay off their own debts to creditors and to yourself. if they have jobs they should be fine. there is no reason for them to be living so far beyond their own means that they need financial help every single month or even more than once a year if that.

in the mean you tell your wife to sell something of hers to pay for any current debt that may be hanging around. there is no reason why you should have to sacrifice something you have worked so hard for to help someone that obviously cant control themselves and needs so much financial help.
