This conveyer has a control system that tracks the plane speed and tunes the speed of the conveyer to be exactly the same (but in opposite direction).

after reading that tell me how ur thing makes sense...the belt tunes its speed to the plane even if it does increase thift. apparently ur NOT reading wat i said before
And read the explanation. It just says the conveyor belt moves the opposite direction, that doesn't say anything about the plane. The conveyor belt could move three times as fast backwards for all I care, the plane's engine will overcome the conveyor belt.

Well can you imagine that the plane will move forward? I tried explaining that the best I could using something we see more often.

You could try the conveyor belt thing at the supermarket next time you go h:

Anybody into r/c flying?

I wish my pt40 still worked. We would conduct a little experiment. I have a roll of construction paper in my house, and I could pull the paper under the airplane and throttle the plane at the same time. That would prove it once and for all.

Does anybody happen to have a .25+ ci engine laying around? Probably not. My OS 46FX broke when my plane was crashed. h:

The plane most certainly will take off! Thrust from its engines acts on the surrounding air--has nothing to do with the ground or the belt the plane is on

That would work too. For those of you who have ever put a can of food on it's side while the belt is running, you would know it spins and stays in place (assuming the belt and the underlayment below the belt are in relatively good condition). I bet $100 if you blow on it, it'll roll up the belt.

Have you ever flown in a plane before? Do you remember how the plane throws you back in the seat at take off? Even with a full load of dumb asses and thier luggage on board? Don't you think all that power could make the wheels turn faster than the runway is pushing and take off? Sit calmly and read my arguments (the two long ones) and read the problem.

Have you ever been on a people mover (one of those flat escalators like at the airport)? Lets say you are walking againts it and you are holding a cannon. Fire the cannon behind you and I guarantee it'll knock you on your face.

The engines that suck air from in front of the plane and push it behind the plane don't really give a crap about its wheel speed.

I would personally bring a toy truck or something, but yeah. If you pushed the truck hard enough on the conveyor belt at the store, it will roll up the belt.
