28, no credit card debt, no school loans, no car payments,
close to 10K saved up for a house downpayment. I've also got a nice chunck in the 401K. I feel pretty good about where I am right now. I can't wait to get a place of my own.

even if you have $0, you will have a house that the money is in...albeit not "a lot" of money since you gotta build equity first, but still money.

that's really bad way to buy a house. you still need money to furnish the house, etc. I know people say blah blah, but it's the truth. You'll need things like fridge, furniture, washer/drier, TV and other stuff that you don't think of until you own a house.

I kid you not, we spend around $10K in the first year we bought our house for various things and no we didn't go for the best of everything. I wanted to but my gf didn't want to and I am glad we didn't. I mean who needs a $1000 washer... ido

yeah, when it comes to furnishing the house, i have stuff, but not alot. i got a nice tv. that will stay for sure. i have a fridge, but i will want a new one. i have a couch, but will want a new one. have bed, but want new one. too much stuff to buy when it's time for house!! and gotta have enough money for insurance and taxes
