same with my dad. he wasnt at the body shop that long, but i was 17 when his cancer surfaced and he worked at the shop before my mom was pregnant with me.
Seeing my dad go from looking like a 50 year old man, to looking older than my grandfather, KILLED me. He could barely get his words out, gasped for every breath, couldnt taste anything...but he kept his sense of humor, right up till the night before he died.

Pissed me off a bit, though, that they didn't start checking me until I was 50. My dad had a bout with prostate cancer, so they should have been checking me earlier. I did say something to my PCP, but he wouldn't do the test until I turned 50 (maybe insurance wouldn't pay for it? who knows).
