That's what I had too. I was diagnosed at age 50 with a moderately agressive form of it, so all the doctors I consulted said I should have the surgery, because I was young enough to recover quickly.
Pissed me off a bit, though, that they didn't start checking me until I was 50. My dad had a bout with prostate cancer, so they should have been checking me earlier. I did say something to my PCP, but he wouldn't do the test until I turned 50 (maybe insurance wouldn't pay for it? who knows).
