Im starting to work out 3-4 times a week and going to move to 6 times a week. Now ive been thinking I need to get some protein. Now jw am I going to gain any weight by putting more protein in my body. So far ive been converting more fat into muscle and would rather continue to lose more weight / while still putting on muscle.

Depends on how you lift. The more weight you put on, the more muscle mass you will get. You'll notice the fat loss though, since you still burn a lot of calories when you lift.

lose weight = cardio
build muscle = lift and protein

you cant do both in the same time unless you got mad skillz. the key is to focus.

Well I typically do cardio in the beginning and lift for about 45 minutes.

doing both is considered TONING

now there are 4 things you can ask yourself when working out (in terms of looks):

do you want to be skinny?
do you want to be big?
do you want to be ripped?
do you want to be big and ripped?

and that should define what you are doing and what you take in, the first is the easiest to do, the last the hardest (for most ppl i find) now there are additional questions that you can ask such as:

do you want to be able to lift a lot?
do you not care?

just answer those questions and i can tell you wnat you might want to think of doing

i don't think protein will make you gain weight. i used to take isopur shakes and they have less than 1000 calroies with 55grams of protein. but i dunno how things are today that was like 6 years ago.

Right now I am about 180 standing 5'10. I have a lot of mucsle on me so if you asked someone they would not consider me full fat. I was thinking if I got down to 155-160 I would be happy. I just want to be able to have good stamina and strength and would like to be ripped.

Just today I did 10 minutes of running equaled to a little over a mile. And did primarly legs for 40 minutes and arms and ab's for 20 minutes.

Im starting to drink 1 liter of water a day at least which I usually dont do.


I want to be able to lift a lot, but not to the point where I am abnormaly huge.

alright, then protien prolly aint the thing for you, see your body needs protien to grow muscle, starve it of mass ammount s of protien (ie.. dont supplement your currect diet) and you shouldnt see massive musle increase to the point of gargantuism...

keep the cardio at a minimum until your muscle is at a lil above what you want it, then go on a diet and do cardio, as well as minimal- moderate lifting to cut, alot like molding somthign out of clay, you have to build it up and then cut out what you dont want. and then just tone after that until you get your family, or minivan and are ready to have an extra apare tire wrapped around your waist.

hmm, im not sure you can get down to 155 if you are 5'10"

im 5'8" and i was averaging around 150 and i was kinda bulky.
you might be able to...im down to 140 and im stating to tone up a bit.

it depends on what race/ethnicity/genetics he is/has

like itailans can usually do 5'10" and be ripped and looking ok at 150-160

you need a body fat of suttin like 13% or lower to start to notice ab's/ripping of the body
