doing both is considered TONING
now there are 4 things you can ask yourself when working out (in terms of looks):
do you want to be skinny?
do you want to be big?
do you want to be ripped?
do you want to be big and ripped?
and that should define what you are doing and what you take in, the first is the easiest to do, the last the hardest (for most ppl i find) now there are additional questions that you can ask such as:
do you want to be able to lift a lot?
do you not care?
just answer those questions and i can tell you wnat you might want to think of doing
