mahoney just stfu. i have met rick in real life and he's a cool cat.

sometimes i don't agree with the way he does things on the board, but i still respect the fact that he is a moderator. you're whole "noob to board/noob to life" comment is quite irrelevant to the subject at hand.

oh well, thats my say in the matter.

That's exactly how it works. We didn't take money for a car we didn't have, only a deposit. We didn't make commission on Priuses until the cars were delivered.

I wanted to say this the last thread but it was locked. Anyhoos, the US uses 25% of the world's total energy. The proper response to this fact is that we also produce about 25% of the world's GDP, and we are the leader in world industrial output. So, all the energy we use is to keep the world's economy going. The US is caught in a delicate catch 22 where we catch a lot of blame for wasting energy (which isn't totally untrue, but a lot of what we use is necessary), but if anything were to happen to our industrial output the rest of the world would be entirely screwed.
