Agoraphobia is something that afflicts many, I usually never ever go anywhere where there are a lot of people without having someone I know around me. All I can say is have a friend around that you know, try to use them as a channel to mingle with the strangers.

if a stranger ever said, "nice tits" to me, he'd either be hearing me flip the **** out on him for being a complete inconsiderate asswipe, or he'd feel my hand slapping him across the face....all depending on what kind of mood i'm in that day of course.

seriously if its that hard, then get yourself opening up and conversing with strangers while drinking...then once you get used to talking and interacting with live human beings instead of just online like axeboyseal does, you should be able to be comfortable enough to do it without having liquor.
