im an engineering major (either welding or mechanical) because thats what im good at and thats what im into. the clincher was the great job market and $$$ :naughty:

i always wanted to be an inventor when i was a little kid, so i figure this is about as close as it gets.

oh ya and i might be minoring in history too since i only need like 2 more classes for that.

Currently I am working on my AS in Architectural Technology. Then I will head up the University of Utah for a BS in Architecture. Hopefully graduate school somewhere. :dunno: Where yet?

Here's the short version.

It took me a while to find the right ratio of profitability and passion, but my choice to pursue a career in Journalism is one that I've made out of love for the power of the written word, and it's ability to foment positive change. h:

Started off in Chemical Engineering but dropped that after I ended up dropping out of the Materials course and getting a D in Organic Chem. Took up Computer Engineering and thats what I just got my degree in.

Started off not really knowing what I wanted to do. I was a "psychology" major first but I gave up on that after taking the intro course. Switched to political science but I felt like I already pay too much attention to politics so I don't want to actually do it as a major and/or occupation. So now I'm an English major because I use a bunch of big words and I'm good at writing papers in very short amounts of time.

As far as career plans, this really has no bearing on what I want to do as a career. Just from applying for internships I feel like corporate America is a load of bullshit and doesn't challenge my linguistic abilities, so I'm going to milk the system and that's about it. I'd rather be working on cars or playing tennis or something, but that's not the route to the big bucks.

And yea i know not all make 125k a year, u have to work your ass off, and be extremely lucky to land that. Hopefully if i make the right connections, and use my networking skills i can land something similar.

corporate america will not challenge your linguistic abilities. my grammar and vocabulary are above average, and it's maddening to work with so many people who can't spell or speak properly. even emails from directors and executive management make me want to hurt someone. it's sad when your six-digit plus boss comes to you, to draft his emails for him
