When I was in school I was an ME like brettinem and pretty much for the same reason. Im out for awhile cause I cant afford classes let alone gas.

out of all my friends that went to law school and graduated and passed the CA bar only 1 is making over 250K. but that is because he started his own firm and that's 250K revenue for the firm not what he makes.
his main job only pays 50K a year and he works for the state.
