That's why you should call your insurance company. They have done tests to determine what kind of damage should be caused if she was following the speed limit. In some states, if a person is in an accident and it's determined that they were speeding, almost all the fault goes to them.

As for the rates going up... If the damages are under $1000, you may want to consider paying it out of pocket. This will keep your rates down. I doubt they will be from the discription, but if you can get used parts from a junk yard, even if the colors don't match, you can get it painted later.
Also, it depends on your age. If you are in the 16-21 bracket, your rates will most likly jump by 10-30% depending on your company.(I'm basing this on my two accidents with American Family Insurance)

That's awsome man. It's always a plus to have friends like that. You may want to have a friend spend the night too, just in case. Also, it won't hurt to have someone to talk to and take your mind off of stuff.
I hate to think the worst, but internal bleeding doesn't really have a lot of symptoms. So a friend with you would give you some extra protection. You may have cracked/broken a rib. In that case, all you can do is let it heal over time. Take some pain killers if it gets too bad.

Keep us posted!!!

My brother is driving 3 hrs to come and take a look at me. Gosh I love my family and yet most of the time I think I am a failure.

I would love to settle out of insurance. My brother thinks I outta call insurance. Maybe if she gives me a quote for her car and I dunno how much a door is gonna be. Dunno how much junkyards charge for doors. Then I'd have to change the lock and put on the new door which I can do. Maybe I outta wait before I call insurance.

I think so. I've heard that if you call them about something like that without even making a claim, that some companies will still use it to raise your rates. I need to get more info about it but i would be cautious just in case.

Anyone know any Honda salvage yards with an online database. I think I only need the shell for the door, the interior is ok and naturally a glass window.

I should have clarified myself. If he wants to settle it out of pocket without getting insurance involved, I was assuming he'd call the woman to tell her that before she contacted her insurance company. If it's too late, then, yeah, you're right, they'll already know.

My searches seem to show around $400 - $800 for a door in the right color. Guess best bet is to go to the junkyard and pickup a door and install it myself.

Yup, that way you can try to keep prices down. Even if you don't want to install it, you can get a shop to do it for around $150.
