All these cars should be easy to find, for cheap too!

A lot of the older Subbeys were pretty reliable and AWD

Mine's been rock solid so far.....:dunno:....it's been two months since I bought it, but it drives so nice and smooth. The quattro system is so nice in the snow...two nights ago I was driving home on the freeway in the snow and didn't have any slipping at all.

I wouldn't get an Audi, my extended family has had 3 or so and all ended up with problems. Incidentally enough, my friend's 1998 A4 just had engine problems that will require about $2k to fix. If you're going to go used, it wouldn't be wise to get an Audi I think.

I also had the same idea as some of you. I was also considering just keeping my Civic for the rest of the year, and just getting some AWD/4x4 beater for when the weather is crappy. Older Subarus are good? How about an old 4runner/Tacoma? Or an old Pathfinder?
