Jeeps are kind of maintenance-intensive, and replacement parts are expensive.

If you are looking for a cheap beater 4x4, get an S10 with the 4.3. you can find a 1994 4x4 with a stick for about 3.5k. And cherokees aren't the best offroad vehicles. They don't even have locking differentials.
