Let me get this straight. If someone stands up for themselves they are egging the other people on? So they should just keep quiet and take the abuse?

 

This thread is... um... I think it's just hitting a very sensitive moral area for most people and it's pretty clear that the intolerance and close mindedness is on both sides, because neither side is willing to listen to the opposite point of view but just creating assumptions based on stereotypes.

Let's just relax people. Point of the matter is it's all opinion. The only thing in this thread i take issue with is the opening few statements that stated and agreed with the statement that homosexuals should be burned alive. That has nothing to do with religion or morality, that's hate speech pure and simple, and is completely inappropriate, regardless of whether homosexuality is genetic, mental, or a choice. (I'm sure if someone had stated that Hispanics or Muslims should be burned alive would have had their nuts pounded flat with a hammer)

Plus, this thread is getting nowhere, and is completely ignoring the much more interesting topic of lesbians, who are not effeminate (and if they are, then it's appropriate, since they are women) and are incapable of most type of penetrative sex without accessories, least of all anal sex.

I'm not solely basing my hate for the homosexual lifestyle, and many homosexuals just on my religous upbrining. Its only a small portion of it.

 

I think its humorous that hate towards homosexuals, whether its by experience or religion, can be so widely accepted, while hate for another race or ethnicity or culture is so looked down upon, no matter what.

Thats the purpose of this forum and this topic...Ive learned some pretty interesting stuff, as Im sure everyone else has, except for the people who say "shut up about it."

You'd have a valid point if this debate was constructive or open-mided, but it's not. It's turned into a yelling contest, and neither side is saying anything interesting or relevant. It's the same old same old.

And if you want to get technical, this thread has gone way off topic for the On Topic Forum anyway. It's supposed to be whether gays should be burned alive, not the morality and ethics of gay life.

 

Well, you were so vocally against Nick's comments, that is simply what I read from your comments.

I realize that this may not relate to you directly, but when people use a religion that is fundamentally based on love and peace as an excuse for hate, it boggles my mind.

There are very few true christians left in this world.

 

I agree with that statement....I dont understand how hate is derived from it either.

I think everyone is saying relevant things...did you know the stuff about the bible that they were just yapping about? Did you know how fellatio started? I learned how 2 people Ive spoken to for a while feel about a topic, and they both feel VERY strongly about their completely opposite positions.

I think the thread is very interesting, very on-topic, and very productive. Therefore, it stays open as long as us fools keep yapping about it!
