gay rights are very much bullsh*t. black people...yes, they have a right to fight for civil rights. women...yes, they have a right to fight for civil rights. Whats the difference? blacks and women are being discriminated against for something they had no control over whatsoever. gay people, on the other hand, made that choice to be gay. they weren't born gay, they aren't "products of a modern society" or whatever other liberal ass reason you come up with that they didnt have any choice but to be gay. you made the choice, be prepared to live with its consequences.


I guess it could be worse...if you've ever taken an anthropology class, homosexuality in different parts of the world are much worse. Like this one tribe (i dont remember the name) is set up where the elder men of the tribe have sex with all the young boys because they believe the semen gives them warrior strength.

 

None of the gay people I know "chose to be gay". Unanimously, if they could be straight, they would. It'd be easier for them, easier for the people their families, easier for society. Why the f*ck would anyone choose to be gay? Just explain that.

The point is, no one can explain homosexuality. It's been taken off the list of psychiatric diseases around the world (most recently, China declassified homosexuality as a psychiatric problem), it's not caused by a virus, there don't seem to be any social issues that all gay people relate to (although a significantly higher number have come from broken homes or been assaulted as a child, it's still not universal.), and science still hasn't found a gay gene.

However, to slide it away as a choice is ludicrous. Describing homosexuality as a choice is like saying heterosexuality is a choice. You choose to be heterosexual and you choose to like girls (or guys, if you're a chick). With some of the attitudes shown in this thread, some of you couldn't even picture yourself in a homosexual relationship. Think maybe the gays feel just the opposite? People like what they like. It's not always a choice. Do you one day have the hots for Pamela Anderson and the next day CHOOSE to get all bothered by Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsberg? hell no.


and i'm gonna address the whole gay political agenda thing with this quote: "If there really is a gay agenda, then there must be a straight agenda. So what is the straight agenda?"

 

i think gay people turn out to be gay naturally, and i feel the enivronment they grew up in has to do with something....

i don't really have much input on this, cause i don't really think about the subject.

 

why the f*ck would anybody choose to be gay? thats a gooooooooooood question. but they do. they've been exposed to heterosexuality all their lives too unless they've been locked up in some cage their entire life.

i'm pretty sure that every biology textbook i've ever had has refered to the "sexual organs" as the REPRODUCTIVE organs. now, i dont claim to be a doctor, but i'm pretty sure f*cking another dude in the ass isnt gonna reproduce anything except for disease. you dont choose to be heterosexual, thats just the way life works.

The day science finds this gay gene, i will eat my words, but that day will never come because that gene does not exist.

So why would they choose to be gay? If you don't know, and they don't want to be, then what is the basis of this argument?

again, I'll state - none of the gay people I know chose to be gay. if they could be straight, they would. but they can't.

edit: you seem to be assuming that they should be straight, because they've been exposed to it. but that implies that any form of sexuality is completely psychological.

edit 2: making this into a liberal vs. conservative issue is equally bullsh*t, since the issue of gay rights crosses political lines.

 

What does being exposed to heterosexuality have to do with anything? I've been exposed to lots of homosexuality- does that mean I want to be homosexual? NO.

And your argument about "its not natural because you cant reproduce" is just you defense because you have nothing else to stand behind. Guess what? Humans don't do things like animals do. We have brains- we have emotions, we have comprehension and language.
If we were to do things naturally we would all be running around in the jungle screwing each others brains out. We would choose mates based on their physical strength and status rather than love. Because if that is your mindset- then who needs love? Let's just make children.

Having emotions is more of a negative than a positive. Just because we have them, doesn't mean they're right. Most people, when under emotional duress, choose illogically...because their emotions tell them otherwise
