Just to make it clear: I think everyone has a right to think homophobia is disgusting.
I think everyone has the right to (blindly) life their life according to the bible.
I think everyone has the right to do whatever they want.
But just because you disagree with someones lifestyle; doesn't mean you can take it upon yourself to say that they are going to hell or that they are a bad person.

Opinions are opinions. Hate it all you want. But don't say that its wrong or unhealthy just because a 2000 year old book says its a nono.

 

My opinion IS based on a "2000 year old booK"...and thats exactly what it is...my opinion. I'm not preaching at anyone, I dont expect anyone to not be gay because I hate homosexuality. I'm simply stating my opinion. Your beliefs are your beliefs and mine are mine.

 

None of those actions are 'unnatural,' then, clearly. It is natural behavior, unless you believe that 10% of the population is purposely acting against their natural instincts.

AIDS started to spread because of sex. Africa currently has the highest percentage population infected with AIDS, and I assure you, 30% of Africa isn't gay. Also, there are more heterosexual than homosexual carriers of AIDS in the United States. The 'AIDS is a gay disease' myth originated so that heterosexual people could sleep better at night.

I wasn't saying that you should move to the basement, I said you should take a look at it. With a quick search I found 599 occurances of the word gay, 814 occurances of the word ghey, and so far none of them seem to be in a positive light.

Searching the whole forum it is 1020 uses of ghey and 880 of gay.

I guess I'm pro-gay. As long as most of it is kept in the bedroom, I don't care what people do. But two chicks or two dudes walking down the street holding hands or something, I don't see how anyone could find that offensive.

Stuff like gay rights are not bullsh*t. In around 40 states in the US, gays can be fired from their jobs without cause. That's insane. It's not like gays are asking for special, gay-only rights. They just want to add their issue to the list of federally recognized discrimated groups. And as only 10% of the population, they're definately a minority.

Gay marriage is different. I think domestic unions are okay, but marriage has so much religious stuff behind it that it can't cross into anything but a monagamous man-woman joining.

Also, I've been pretty shocked by some of the homophobic attitudes of people in this thread. "Burn where they stand"? That's like friggin KKK/Nazi/Aryan Nation sh*t. If you're truly religious, you'd follow the credo "Love the sinner, hate the sin" and let God be the final judge. But imo, I just can't see any truly loving God who would deny a good, hard working, generous person admittance into heaven or eternal bliss because they were the wrong religion or were gay.

I know I know, it's a sin, it says so in a lot of religious books including the Bible, but watch some interviews with gay people talking about their homosexuality. For example, that one where Rosie O'Donnell came out. Why would anyone choose to be gay? It makes life just that much harder on you. I've never heard one gay person say they chose to be gay, and how they felt was how they felt.

A couple of you have been saying you don't understand how a dude wouldn't want the "soft touch" of a woman". Well, you just answered your own question. Lesbians clearly feel the same way you do. Gay guys feel the same way as chicks. What, you thought the purpose of heterosexual sex was for the girl to lie there completely disgusted with the guy, bored off her mind while you got the "soft touch"?

okay, i know i've gotten preachy, so i'll stop, but one last thing. Quite frankly, as long as it's two (or more) adults who are conscious and aware of what they are doing, I couldn't give a rats ass. People try to equate homosexuality with pedophilia or animal husbandry. In pedophilia, only the adult is fully aware and conscious of what's going on. the kid's kind of just there. Same with the animal thing. Who knows what the goat or horse is thinking? In homosexuality, as long as it's two or more fully conscious, aware, sentient, adult people, I have no problem with it. and imo, it's not gross - it's great they have each other fulfilling the others' needs.

No, but to be blunt and not medically specific (i'm not a doctor, i dont know how it all works) its a lot easier for a guy to contract AIDS if his penis is in another guys ass. Don't ask me how- I remember hearing it on the discovery channel

Not only that- but many gays didn't use condoms because until recently- condoms were just used for birth control.
So gay people said "to hell with condoms- we can't make babies" and ended up passing around AIDS.
