and might I add that it doesn't matter what budget camera you use, that light output is plain stupidity.

This is a REGULAR halogen light output:

and this is his AFTER HID's

Funny how the halogen seems to give better lighting than your 12,000's h:

number 1. i did post about retro fitting above

number 2. i will post a better, hi res picture tomorrow of what my output looks like on a dry road, while standing outside the car..

number 3. i didn't buy them because i wanted to see anything...i didn't care and infact i still don't. i just decided id blind everyone in suv's..i figure its my turn.

number 4. my civic still runs h4 sized bulbs, its the harness size you buy the bulb to fit, not some super duper conversion *which there isn't one.. or a need for one* that you had to do, to make it a d2s or a d1 or a d1s bulb..because im not just buying some random hid for any car and trying to make it fit into my car..

number 5. ghetto r0x j00r s0x, or no one would buy rota rims..

Rota has nothing to do with being ghetto, you've just insulted a larger portion of this board, so I'll let them comment you on that line.

Go get your learn on:

Your number 3 reason just about sums up your brilliance so I'm pretty much done here.

lets clear this up, me calling rota rims ghetto, is because they are the payless of rims.. i would buy them if i couldn't personally afford to buy the real volks or the real prodrives, or the real advans, etc...etc.. but isn't that what the whole jdm thing is about "function over form"?

and i was planning to buy rota's for another one of my cars, so there is no point in me arguing over that...who cares, they're cheap...and they roll...that was my intention..my headlights turn on, and they light up the road...they serve their purpose..

MaxBoosT:

Will putting any HID H4 bulb in place of a halogen H4 bulb always suck, or is it just the 1200k color temperature we're talking about?

Reason I ask is because my Miata takes H4 bulbs but there's a very sharp cutoff to the top of the beam so I figure that as long as I use an actually functional color of bulb, HIDs would work nicely.

Hey Mike,

It's not that it will suck, it's just that it will be very glary. Not sure how Miata headlights are designed, but if it uses an H4 bulb, chances are, the design is similar. The design was made for a halogen bulb, if you put the HID's in there, you will get massive glare and spotty light. My suggestion, you can get an H4 HID kit, but get the glare shields that were made to help preven the glare.
They look like this

You can buy them here:

Let me know if you need help Mike :bigok:

Well I'm not doing it right away or anything, just thinking about how it would be accomplished.

Like I said the cutoff on the beam is really sharp--it's a totally straight line across the road. So who knows if I'll need the glare shields, but nice to know they exist if need be.

I'll probably just get some 4100k halogen bulbs. h:

That's somewhat true, but you can't really compare halogen to the HID, the HID bulb produces dozens upon dozens of more lighting, so chances are, light will be scattered.

To be honest with you, I've had great experiences with Silverstars. Granted, they aren't HID, but for the money, and especially if on a budget, Silverstars are a good choice.

I know that this is extremely o/t..

but I do not think that rotas are the payless of rims. They are imitations of expensive wheels (like the slipstream > spoon) that are of nearly the same quality as the original and they look good.

I am sorry, they aren't JDM, how silly of me not to know that JDM means quality

:shamelessplug: I got real Volks  :shamelessplug
