how is that ghetto?all you do is run the wires under you door sills.give me on reason why its better to run into the head unit.running it to a fuse is easier to do,easier to take off, requires less wire, its safer, and it dosent require splicing wires.if you are concerned with looks, the only "ghetto" thing is visible wires.if you dont want "ghetto" sound, just make sure you use rcas instead of a converter.if youre really insecure like some people...dont even consider using your fuse.if you want advice from an experienced audio enthusiast, listen to me.

if you think the remote wire is bad,any small wire will work.check the fuse on your power cable, try different grounds, check if your protection light is on,check your amp fuses, check speaker wire, make sure your battery terminal is tight enough, make sure your rcas are still in,if you have a coverter..play around with the wires that run to your rear speakers, play with the crossover point,if all of this fails you probably blew the amp...see if it smells like shit.

thanks for all of your help everyone

yes the AMP did have a saftey light, however, the saftey light would stay on ever when the car was off.

I have the remote (blue and white) running straight back to the amp,

There is a prong connection between the remote wires, is this prong neccisary, or can i just splice the two wires and hook them up directly to each other?

Default ok buddy!!!

Yes you can cut that prong off, splice the wire, wire them together and then get a cap and crimp them together or sodder them. If you want to really wire a cd player you could sodder all the wires from your wiring harness to the head unit.
