92 Prelude questions...
Just found a listing for a 92 Prelude 4WS Si, for $4500. 128K miles, original owner, and right in my town. It sounds like a good deal, but I was wondering what you all thought? I personally don't know that much about Preludes yet, and I didn't even think that I woudl be able to afford one, so I have some questions:
What should I look for in the car? Any typical breakdowns? I'll take it to the Honda dealer, but anything inparticular? Is the mileage high? (I wouldn't think so, for a Honda engine, but I dunno) Lastly, apart from all that, I was wondering what 4 wheel steer meant exactly...is it a big deal, compared to the regular Si?
Thanks all, I'll check in occasionally. Lastly, if anybody on here can run VINs, that'd be awesome, just email me at jchsu@umich.edu...I'd compensate you, but then I could just buy the record myself. ;p

okie dokie.. Si 4ws is crafted by the Lord... if my 'rents would have cosigned this last january.. i'd be the owner of a 93 Si 4ws...
to find out how much the car is actually worth give or take.. www.kbb.com....
typical things to look for before buying a car... rust - the wheel wells.. windshield... look at the wheels to see if they're in good shape or not... the mileage isn't too bad... make sure the timing belt has been done... this is all i can think of right now b/c i'm tired and hungry.. i'll finish after lunch....

I got my 92 Si 4WS with 155K miles for $1800. Mine needed a new windsheild and a new headlight. It could use some new brakes but I will do that later. But the price you are looking at is decent. I think you should offer $4000.
Also make sure the water pump has been done too (that and the timing belt should have been done at the same time) Also look for rust on the moon roof. But first of all give the tires a nice kick and make sure she dont fall apart. A test drive is also a must. If you can't test drive it yourself....have a friends or relative do it. Goodluck
