Default does this sound like knock?

At higher rpms I hear a fast pinging sound from my engine. I dont have any experience with this. Does anyone know much about knock and why it occurs? Any help is most appreciated.

I cant believe my luck lately, ontop of problems with my car I recieved a "Notice of Actions under the Digital Millenium Copyright Act"

Okay, I now understand why knock occurs. And I believe if what I am hearing is indeed "knock" then it is probably the result of my lean fuel mixture. I believe my engine is running lean only because the spark plugs I pulled out of my engine where burnt white. But How do I confirm what I am hearing is knock?

start by giving us more to go on.
like engine code
year
etc.

if your car is knocking, the motor will not last much longer if you allow it to continue.

you should check your ignition timing with a timing light, and make sure you dont have contaminated fuel or water in your fuel system. also make sure your running 93 octane.

pre-detonation (knocking) is caused by a number of things:
insufficient fuel octane
advanced/improper ignition timing
faulty knock sensor

Knock is bad, but too lean is really bad over time. If you've got white deposits on your plugs, you're way too lean. If you keep driving it like that you'll burn your exhaust valves.

Its a stock 92 h22a1. (no trouble codes) I run nothing but 93octane, and my ignition timing is at spec. I have been suspecting my injectors to be clogged, and the reason for my lean mixture, causing my engine knocking. I will hopefully be sending them off to rc engineering in the next week.

they didnt make a h22a1 in 1992

maybe it was swapped? or its a 93-95 VTEC

you should check your fuel pressure

i just got my injectors back from RC, and unfortunately lucky #4 wouldn't fire when i popped them in, when i swapped that injector out for my brand new spare oem, car ran geat. so i sent it back to RC and they said it was working fine...just got it back again today...they said it may have gotten stuck shut from their calibration fluid or something like that. who knows

Squee: Ya, its swapped. I have a gauge attached to my fuel filter which is at 29psi. So I really dont know what else it could be besides my fuel injectors. Maybe I'll just buy some brand new ones.

minimum stock fuel pressure for the h22a1 i believe is 31-33 psi, max stock is 39 psi pushing 80% duty cycle on injectors

sounds like you are running quite lean, maybe you should bumo your FP up a bit.

i am assuming you have a stock fpr and im assuming you disconnect the vacuum and plug the intake plenum side to test the pressure.

my fuel pressure is okay. stock fuel pressure for the h22a is 24-31. I also tested my fpr out by unplugging the vacuum line and it is at 40, max is 41 so both my pressure and fpr check out. So the only other thing i can think is that its somehow my injectors whetether they crapped out or just need to be cleaned.

yea most likely its your injectors
i always measure pressure by unplugging the stock fpr vacuum and plugging the plenum. helms says: 33-40 with hose off, or like you said 24-31 with vacuum.
