Here's an interesting thought I had...

Gay couples can't naturally reproduce. So does that mean heterosexual couples are supposed to get all the benefits that come with marriage because they can naturally produce more taxpayers? So that would mean heterosexual couples are being used by a 'smoke & mirrors' benefit system? Irony?

This is meant as an entertaining argument. h:

What about sterile couples? Or couples that choose not to reproduce? Should they not be allowed to married too? We had this discussion in my political science class back in college. Some homosexual couples adopt as well so why not let them pursue their happiness as heteros do? I just don't see the big deal but I guess that's because I know some very upstanding homosexuals.

to those that immediately brought up the bible after my reply,

I'm very much a liberal myself. I have homosexual friends like most of you guys. Funny thing is that not one of them actually pay too much attention to this issue. Some are happily involved and live together just like any other families out there.

Activists on both sides are actually the most vocal in this very issue.

I support gay rights, even though I do not support the lifestyle. My cousin is gay, and I will support him even if his immediate family does not.

I hadn't meant for it to be satirical, but if you want to read that deep into it...have fun.

Actually, we had a discussion on this topic in my business law class a few years back, so I understand where you're going with that.

If it passes by one vote my g/f will probably curl up in a ball and cry for weeks. I told her a ton of times to vote because she's so against Prop 8, but she didn't.

It really sucks though
