if you're a "religious" person, those usually go hand in hand.

So if people just don't like homosexuality, not for religious but for personal reasons, then it's ok?

That doesn't matter, a person's morals are a person's morals.

What other reason would you have against allowing for gays to be "married" than religion? I can't think of anyone who is atheistic who would be against that.

Never saw a problem with gay marriages. Let them marry if they want.

My sentiments precisely.

Look into the Knights of Columbus, James Dobson and his organization Focus on the Family. All were key contributors to the Yes on 8 campaign and the introduction of the proposition itself.

IMO, these groups constitute a fanatical "Christian" minority faction using straw man arguments to justify discrimination on the grounds of a trumped up culture war.

And I used quotes because the fundamental inequity they endorsed with Prop 8 is hardly Christian in principle. Unless you believe the Gospel ends at Leviticus.

There. That ought to dump some fuel on the fire.

Who are you to say that? Some people just don't like the idea. I know plenty of people who aren't religious, that don't agree with homosexuality or same sex marriage.

They don't have the same rights sadly...It's not exactly just the word.
