my main point is if chevvy would have stayed with the higher tech engine design that the zr-1 had the zo6 would have made more power then it does now

I think we should change the name of this topic to, "Do the Corvette beat the Corvette??"

Give it up dude. You are never going to convince Mr. functionally literate up there that a pushrod could possible engine could be better, strong, faster or higher tech than an overhead cam engine. An electric hammer must be better than an iron sledge because its high tech, right?

nana dohc is proven to better overall for power otherwise why would formula 1 and so forth use it. if the zr-1 engine would have been revamped for the zo6 it would have been better. it was making 385 and the origanl zo6 was making the same power, and a dohc eninge tuned to teh same compatabilty will be better then pushrode no quetions about it it is more expensive but it is better

the acceleration is about the same...

and i think NSX's cost more because of it's aerodynamics and it's status as a 'practical' sports car... but i dunno

how is it better? the ls6 makes as much power (if not more), is lighter, and is short 3 cams. i'm sure the gas mileage is comparable (if not better in the z06)...

i am talking about any dohc not jsut the zr-1 vs the zo6 the zo6 is much newer and should ahve more power. If u take a 5 liter pushrode v8 and a 5 liter dohc v8 and tune them both to their maz potential the dohc one will mkae more power smother

if you strap a solid rocket booster to the back of my civic it'll be way faster than any dohc engine...who cares if it's more primative, right???
