I will tend to agree with the "Porsche is a Porsche, Honda is a Honda" statement....... however, from a business and marketing standpoint, Honda making a very viable supercar is more attractive to mass market than Porsche selling a Volkswagen SUV. The fact that Honda does have an elite car in their lineup makes the Civic a little bit more classy. If you ask some purists, Porsche selling the Cayenne waters down the 911 lineage just a little. I believe the NSX is a great car for Honda to have, and they should keep producing it or any new variant of it.

I find it funny that the people that don't even own a nsx or a 911 are the ones throwing out stupid comments. It's like comparing apples and oranges. Some people need to realize that these cars aren't civics. The nsx does get bashed on alot for its 80k price tag new. for those of you that think this is expensive: the car is made by hand. all aluminum body, etc, etc. you pay for the quality of the car and too me that is what makes the nsx unique. That is why a few of the owners have chosen a car of that caliber. yeah a 911 is very nasty. hell I played with a gt2 and he threw me back down the free way. and if you pay 180,000 for a car like that it better do that to a nsx.

The NSX is a nice car. You can drive the hell out of it, and guess what? Its a honda. Wont set you back $6000k every 7500 miles. And for those of you who dont think its a true exotic, how many do you see everyday? I would buy the NSX.
In that sense the honda is a honda, and a porsche is a porsche seems to carry a bit of status with it. I dont buy too many things because some people "say or claim" it to be better. Ill buy what: after doing research, is found to be more suited to what I am looking for.
I would drive both, and see which one I like better. That way no one can contest your decision and you know you made the right choice. I think its crazy to to base any kind of decision about anything without knowing or trying the product with info based purely on other peoples claims (who most likely never drivin one before).
Both are nice cars, which one is right for you and your money is your decision, and should be respected.

I went through a Porsche stage years ago, and I'm glad to be in the Honda camp these days.
