would u buy a nsx
whats in a name.... not much. really it's all empty and meaningless, some of these posters seem like they want to hurt eachother over the difference between a porche and a honda. is one better than the other... thats for each individual to decide. but if you're driving around telling yourself you are better than that guy cause of his choice in automobile, then i feel sorry for you, if you want a 911 go buy one, why knock someone elses choice to buy the nsx and people please stop arguing about the horse power, use some logic here, once you reach the maximum speed a horse can run , thats it, so for example, it takes 160 horses to pull a 3100lb chunk of fiberglass on wheels so each horse can run at thier fastest speed, adding more horses will not make a difference unless you've added more wieght to what it is they're pulling, it only matters if you plan on tugging more weight around, and even then, how much wieght do you plan to tug with your 911, or NSX... it's a pointless question just like the argument, horse power alone makes no determination on how great the car is, what about torque? and camber? what the struts and steering can do? body flex and body roll? what tires are on it? what terrain was it designed for, and what terrain is it on? what about being a real human being and not judging someone based on how much money they spent on thier car. or what name is on it.... porche is a fine example of excellent german engineering, and honda is a fine example of excellent japanese engineering. whats the difference? who cares...
theres only one thing that i can say right now, that matters more than any thing else. this is a forum for honda/acura people to discuss their vehicles. not for insecure people to go and pick fights with other people cause enzyte didnt make his engine bigger

The NSX actually more like 350-400BHP so its not under-powered!
A DOHC VTEC engine produce typically 100BHP per litre, so a 3.5 litre V6 is going to be at least 350bhp based on honda engines such as the B18C (actually more than 100bhp/litre) so definetly not under-powered
Plus if the car is faster than a porche the BHP will have to be similar to the porche or higher - its simple physics
Both cars are reliable and stunning, ive never had the luck to drive either but id be happy with either! but personally the NSX does it for me, it just has that racing look and amazing engineering (being an engineer i can really appreciate the NSX) and plus its not everyday you see an NSX where as i see porches every day
I drive a honda civic with a B18C4 engine similar to the integra type r engine and thats good enough, a 3.5 V6 Vtec would be un-believable! not to mention all the carbon fibre - one day - one day i will have one!

all, i can say is, in honda's own words, (I read it off the marketing poster for the gen2 integra), "the GS-R, is the direct technological decendant of the NSX..." that makes me feel pretty good about my g3 teg...
yeee haaaaaaa!!!

The NSX has a high coolness factor in my view. I see very few of them, but when I do I tend to stare  I see a nice 911 on the street and I drool over that too, but something about the lines and the low slung look of the NSX that draws me in. If I was financially able, I'd seriously consider one.
I appreciate any fast car...but they ALL have their quirks. If you have the cash to buy a car that expensive, then maintenance costs really shouldn't matter. I would think it comes down to reliability issues and where your tastes run.

My dream car is an NSX and slap on a comptech SC on it. Preferibly a 97, but I will take any year.
Anyone want to trade their NSX for my Turbo RSX (bad ass and professionally done and tuned) + my R1?
If anyone is interested let me know

I took this from a British TV show called "Top Gear." They were testing out the 2005 Corvette. http://www.phixhost.com/~lgbr/vetterace.avi
Pretty interesting really, and I'm not suprised.
BTW, this corvette has 400 hp, if I'm not mistaken.
